Heather A. Majtyka MOT OTR/L SIPT IMC

Owner, Occupational Therapist
DIR Floortime Practitioner
Tomatis Consultant

Heather found her passion for Occupational Therapy through working with her son who was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 34 months. With a bachelor degree in Psychology and Business from the Pennsylvania State University, Heather returned to pursue her Master’s in Occupational Therapy at Temple University. In addition to working with children with Autism and other developmental disabilities in a private clinic setting, Heather also had the good fortune of spending 7 years supporting preterm infants in NICU and following them home for Early Intervention. Heather has experience with working with individuals of all ages in hospital, outpatient, home, and private practice settings. In 2013, Heather opened Foundations for Growing private practice with the goal of creating a center in which children and families can receive the highest quality, evidence based, collaborative care to ensure successful outcomes. As a complement to her practice, Heather utilizes her advanced certifications in the Tomatis Method, DIR Floortime method, Interactive Metronome, and many others, to enhance the therapeutic process for each individual child. Heather believes in meeting each child where they are to celebrate their strengths and to build a foundation for growing.

Comprehensive evaluations are offered by each discipline. Brief screenings or full evaluation reports are available upon request. Depending upon the child’s needs, a Multidisciplinary Assessment offers the opportunity to be assessed in a comfortable and playful atmosphere by a clinician from each discipline.  Next step recommendations are offered to the parent in a consultative format. While some children may enter therapy directly, some parents opt to take the recommendations from FFG’s clinicians back to their home team. In this case, FFG will make itself available to train the child’s team to execute the recommended programming.

Direct Treatment

Clients are seen on an outpatient basis depending upon recommendations made by the clinician. These services may be provided in the clinic, at home, in the child’s school, in the community, or a combination thereof depending upon the child’s goals.

At Foundations for Growing

…we honor each child’s individualized needs in a multidisciplinary and collaborative clinic-based setting.
